Because it does break the no-sugar added rules. But, it really is that good.
Peanut Butter Cup Oatmeal
Make your oatmeal as usual--steel cut, old-fashioned, instant-- what ever floats your boat.
Stir in a nice spoonful of unsweetened cocoa along with a few drops of stevia. At this point, you could stop. You'll have a very decent bowl of choco-oats. Not too shabby.
But, if you are crazy . . . crazy as a mother . . . then right in the middle, scoop on a big 'ol blob of this:
Now, from here, you could stir it all together. Or, you can leave that big ole blob sitting pretty in the middle.
Elizabeth likes to eat her oatmeal with a baby spoon (yogurt and ice cream, too) and grab a little bit of the slightly melted pb with every bite.
If you want a no sugar added version, simply substitute a no-sugar natural peanut butter or other nut butter . . . and maybe a few more drops of stevia.
It is heavenly and worth every step of the 5 miles. You can thank us later.
