Green Monster Smoothie

Green Monster

There is an entire website dedicated to this smoothie. And, there are a million different variations. Basically, any health-conscience smoothie that includes spinach or kale is a "Green Monster".  A frozen banana or some other fruit really makes this drink sing, and a pretty glass will make  you really feel like you are something special.

Fructose Free Green Monster:

Ingredients:
1 cup spinach
1 cup coconut milk (we like Silk brand)
1/4-1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1/2 cucumber, sliced
2 oz baby food sweet potato
1 Tbsp flaxseeds (optional)

Directions: Place all ingredients in a magic bullet or mixer. Blend. Add ice, if desired, and blend some more.

Low-Fructose, No-sugar Added Green Monster:
Ingredients:
1 cup spinach
1 cup coconut or almond milk
1/2 to a whole frozen banana
1 Tbsp cashew, almond, or peanut butter (no sugar)
1 Tbsp flax or chia seeds (optional)

Directions: Place all ingredients in a magic bullet or mixer. Blend. Add ice, if desired, and blend some more.

  2. Amazing Green Monster Smoothie recipe. Cashew is my favorite nut beacause it contains manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium, and of thiamin, vitamin B6 and vitamin K , Iron, potassium! Definitely cashew is healthiest ingredient in this recipe. Thanks a lot for sharing!
